Preview
The Steelers entered the 4th quarter leading the Raiders 23-7, after dominating them for most of the game. Things got a bit sketchy towards the end, but Pittsburgh was still able to win the game 23-18. QB Kenny Pickett had a very solid game, completing 16 of 28 passes for 235 yards, 2 TDs, and 0 INTs in the win. Meanwhile, T.J. Watt now has 6 sacks after 3 games, well on pace to break the all-time sack record.
Houston stunned the Jaguars on Sunday, winning 37-17 in Jacksonville for their first victory of the season. Rookie QB C.J. Stroud is progressing far faster than anyone expected. He currently ranks 20th in the NFL in QBR, above fellow rookies Anthony Richardson (27th) and Bryce Young (30th) who have arguably better teams around them. If Stroud continues to improve, the Texans will be competitive sooner than expected.
Prediction
As good as C.J. Stroud and the Texans looked last week, they could be in for a bit of regression in Week 4. Pittsburgh’s defense is among the best, and the presence of T.J. Watt will make any opposing QB under pressure. That being said, Houston seems to be much more competitive than expected, and shouldn’t get blown out at home. I’d expect a close game, with Pittsburgh’s defense ultimately making the difference.
