Event Preview

An emotional couple of weeks await Everton fans, as they bid to say farewell to Goodison Park. The Toffees will be aiming to end the season on a positive note, but they come into this round after suffering defeats in each of their last two, and winning just once across their last five matches in the Premier League.

Ipswich’s relegation back to the Championship was confirmed following a heavy defeat at Newcastle last Saturday. The Tractor Boys will now begin to prepare for their return to the second tier after failing to compete for long stretches in the Premier League. They come into this weekend after going four without a win, and losing on three occasions across that period.

Everton recorded a 2-0 win when these sides met earlier this season, but the Toffees have not won both league fixtures against the Tractor Boys since 1994-95. Meanwhile, Ipswich have recorded victories on their last two trips to Goodison Park. However, their latest trip was in February 2002.

Everton’s poor recent run of form has seen them win just once across their last nine. Defeats in their previous two games mean that they could lose three on the bounce under Moyes for the first time since October 2011.

Ipswich have conceded seven goals across their last two defeats in the Premier League. The Tractor Boys haven’t lost three matches in succession by three-goal margins since March 1995.

Everton vs. Ipswich Picks

The final two home matches for Everton this season will be emotional affairs, and the Toffees will be keen to give their home support something to cheer about. The Toffees look to be the standout bet this weekend against an Ipswich side that has struggled throughout the second half of the campaign.
