Fulham ended their losing streak of 5 defeats by beating Everton 1-3 on Saturday at Goodison Park. A first-half goal from Harison Reed was canceled out by Dwight McNeil’s equalizer to send the sides in 1-1 at halftime. Harry Wilson and Daniel James netted in the second half to ensure Marco Silva’s side took all three points and pushed Everton closer to the drop zone. The Cottagers will still be without the suspended Alexandar Mitrovic for a few games yet so it remains to be seen whether they can continue to find the net as easily as they did here.

Leeds suffered their second consecutive home humiliation of the season against Liverpool on Monday. The Whites were outgunned and outclassed in every department by Jurgen Klopp’s struggling Reds and Luis Sinisterra’s goal just after halftime, to take the score to 1-2, was merely a catalyst for Liverpool to ramp up the waves of offense rather than a lifeline for Leeds. The Yorkshire side has now conceded 60 goals this term and sits in 16th position, just two points above the relegation zone.

Prediction

Fulham found a way to win without Mitrovic last time out, and that will be important for the next few weeks. Leeds may have to rely on other teams being worse in order to avoid relegation this season. That should prove even more true after a defeat here to Fulham.
