The 2022-23 season comes down to this weekend for Everton. The Toffees have never previously been relegated from the Premier League, and the club hasn’t suffered relegation since the 1950-51 season. Their fate is in their own hands this weekend, as they sit in the coveted 17th spot in the standings. But, only a victory will ensure that they secure their status.
Everton sits two points clear of Leicester, but a draw coupled with a win for Leicester this weekend would see the Toffees relegated as the Foxes boast a superior goal difference. The Toffees kept their fight alive last weekend with a massive point on the road against Wolves, and Yerry Mina’s 99th-minute equalizer could yet prove crucial.

Bournemouth’s top-flight status has already been assured. Their performances this term have seen them surpass all expectations, as many predicted that the Cherries would finish bottom of the pile. However, Garry O’Neil has done an excellent job at the Vitality Stadium, and it is criminal that he hasn’t been mentioned in the talk for Manager of the Season.
But, the Bournemouth performance levels have dropped off in recent weeks, and they come into this fixture after losing their last three. Meanwhile, they have landed just two wins over their previous six outings in the Premier League. But, they have often delivered big performances when they have been huge outsiders in the betting.

If there is to be a big shock this weekend, I could see it coming at Goodison Park. At odds-on, I would be happy to take on the Toffees this weekend, and Bournemouth’s record of wins in each of their last three against Everton is an obvious trend to follow. They were 3-1 winners on their last trip to Goodison Park, and we could see history repeating itself.
