Men’s Australian Open Leading Contenders

Jannik Sinner (-115)

Reigning champion Jannik Sinner will be a short-price favorite to retain his Australian Open crown in 2026. The Italian enjoyed a stellar year in 2025, winning the Australian Open and Wimbledon, and reaching the finals in each of the other two Grand Slams.

Sinner has progressed to at least the semi-final stage in seven of the last eight majors, and his record in Melbourne is staggering after winning each of the last two editions to record a win-rate of 85%.

Carlos Alcaraz (+185)

Like Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz was one of the most dominant players on the ATP Tour last season. The 22-year-old is a six-time Grand Slam winner, and he has won 24 titles overall on the Tour.

The Spanish star reached the final in three majors last season, but the Australian Open is a major that he is yet to master. Alcaraz has reached the quarterfinals in each of the last two years, but his 73% win rate is the lowest of all Grand Slam events.

Alexander Zverev (+1300)

If there is one player capable of upsetting the top two in the betting, then it’s likely to be 28-year-old German Alexander Zverev. The player has flirted with major honors throughout his career, finishing as the runner-up on three previous occasions.

Overall, he has won 24 ATP Tour titles, with his standout wins coming in the ATP Finals in 2018 and 2021. The Australian Open is statistically one of his best, winning 76% of his matches, and reaching the semi-final stage in three of the last six editions.

Men’s Australian Open Outright Winner Picks

Another exciting year of Grand Slam action could follow on from the trends from 2025. Alcaraz and Sinner look set to dominate, and the preference for the Australian Open is for the latter. The Italian has an excellent record at this major and appears to be a strong candidate to retain his title for the third consecutive year.
