The final warm-up event before the start of the US Open is set for Ohio in late August, as the world’s best players on the ATP Tour will be in action in the Men’s Cincinnati Open.

Men’s Cincinnati Open Contenders
Alexander Zverev
In the absence of Sinner and Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev is expected to be a red-hot favorite to win the Cincinnati Open for the second time. The German has enjoyed a reliable season on the ATP Tour, winning the French Open, and reaching the Wimbledon final for the first time.
It is also worth noting that he has a strong game on hard courts, having reached at least the semi-final stage in each of the last three editions of the Australian Open. Zverev has gone 15-6 on hard courts this season, and his 79% win rate is his best since 2021.
Felix Auger-Aliassime
Canadian star Felix Auger-Aliassime will be the second seed for the Cincinnati Open this year, as he bids to build on an excellent run to the semi-final at the US Open 12 months ago.
The Canadian has reached the quarterfinal stage in each of the last two Grand Slams, and he has reached at least the same stage in three of the previous five editions of the Cincinnati Open. His win rate of 68% is his best for a calendar year since 2022.
Novak Djokovic
Novak Djokovic should be respected as a three-time winner of the Cincinnati Open, while he has reached the final on five further occasions. This will only be his sixth appearance in a tournament this season, and the Serbian could go winless on the ATP Tour for a calendar year for the first time since 2005.
The third seed has a game perfectly suited to hard courts, having reached the Australian Open final earlier this year, and reaching at least the semi-final in six of the last seven majors played on the surface.
Men’s Cincinnati Open Picks
Zverev is undeniably the player to beat based on his form this season. However, at the odds, it could be worth chancing a player at bigger odds.
Flavio Cobolli could be the interesting selection, as the Italian has risen to a career-best ninth in the world. He is already a one-time winner on the Tour this year, and he got his first taste of success in an ATP 1000 event when winning the Indian Wells Open Doubles.
He looks to still be improving, and he could be set to put a marker down ahead of the US Open this month.
