Deontay Wilder makes his return to the ring in December, as the former WBC heavyweight champion takes on Joseph Parker. The American hasnโt been in the ring throughout 2023, but a massive fight at the end of this year could set the scene for a huge showdown with Anthony Joshua in 2024.
Wilder made his long-awaited return after losing consecutive bouts against Tyson Fury in October 2022, as he delivered a statement performance to score a first-round stoppage success against Robert Helenius. The victory means that the American has now won 42 of his 43 victories by knockout, with his only decision success coming back in 2015 against Bermane Stiverne.

Joseph Parker is a veteran in the heavyweight division, and he has shared the ring with some of the best in the division throughout his career. However, when stepping up to the top bracket of fighters, he has often come up short. That is mirrored by the fact that his only career losses have come against Joshua, Dillian Whyte, and Joe Joyce.
His defeat against Joyce last year was the first time that he had been stopped in his professional career. However, he has bounced back to winning ways this year, scoring three straight wins. Each of the last two have been recorded via knockout, with the latest of those coming in the third round against Simon Kean in October.
