Event Preview
Action on the DP World Tour resumes this weekend, as a high-quality field will be involved in the Danish Golf Championship at Great Northern. This event will cover a total yardage of 7,011, with a purse of $2.75 million up for grabs in the stroke play event.
Spanish stars Eugenio Chacarra and Angel Ayora appear to be obvious starting points when considering the field. Chacarra is a two-time winner on the European Tour this season, with both victories coming in June. Ayora is still waiting for a first win on the Tour this calendar year, but he arrives in Denmark following back-to-back top-five finishes in Italy and the KLM Open.
It is hard to ignore Bernd Wiesberger’s clear claims this weekend, as he is a previous winner of the Denmark Golf Championship. He recorded victories in 2019 and 2021, and has also achieved top-20 finishes since the most recent win.
There is also a strong chance of a home win this weekend, as Rasmus Hojgaard typically excels in front of his home fans. The Dane won the event back in 2023 after a tense playoff against Nacho Elvira, and he was just a shot back in second 12 months ago when held off by Marco Penge.
Danish Golf Championship Picks
Caleb Surratt could be an interesting outsider worth considering this weekend. The American has showcased some of his best golf in recent rounds on the LIV Tour, finishing T15 in the U.S. and an excellent fifth in the LIV golf event in the UK. His form is hard to dismiss, and he is a massive price this weekend.
