The action on the DP World Tour ahead of the World Tour Championship continues this weekend, as Le Golf National hosts the prestigious Open de France. This weekend’s event was first staged in 1906, and the field will compete across a total yardage of 6,977 yards.
Ludvig Aberg will be a red-hot favorite after making his return to the European Tour last weekend with a T27 finish at the BMW PGA Championship. The Swede faded out of contention in the final round, shooting a par score.
Tommy Fleetwood missed the cut at the BMW PGA Championship last weekend, meaning that he should come into this weekend fresher than most. The Englishman typically excels at Le Golf National, highlighted by his starring role at the 2018 Ryder Cup. Fleetwood was also the runner-up at the 2024 Olympics at the course.
Matt Fitzpatrick arguably brings the best form into this event, maintaining his consistency with a T6 finish at the BMW PGA Championship last time out. The competition isn’t as fierce as the FedEx Cup Playoffs this weekend, and he should be in contention.
Ryan Gerard has been making waves on the DP World Tour in recent weeks, making the cuts and finishing in the top 30 on his last three starts. Jeff Winther (+4000) could be an interesting outsider worth considering after finishing as the runner-up on two occasions at the Open de France.

I’m prepared to take chances on a big price against the field this weekend. Highly touted amateur player Michael Mjaaseth could be set to make a similar impression to stars such as Jackson Koivun and Ben James on the international stage.
The Norwegian has previous experience at the course after finishing ninth in the WATC in 2022 at Le Golf National. Many of the other players from that event have been well found in the betting, but Mjaaseth is overlooked.
