This weekend’s event on the PGA Tour will take place at Memorial Park Golf Course, as the Houston Open is staged. This event has been one of the early season events since being moved on the calendar in 2020.
It has been staged annually on the PGA Tour since 1946, and it is held near downtown Houston. Players involved this weekend will cover a total distance of 7,432 yards, with the par 70 event boasting a lucrative purse of $9.1 million. The aggregate record score in the event was set by Tony Finau in 2022.

Finau comes into the weekend as the defending champion, as the Houston Open wasn’t staged on the PGA Tour in 2023. The American will be looking for a response on the Tour after failing to make the cut on his previous appearance when finishing five over in the Valspar Championship.
Scottie Scheffler certainly looks very challenging to overlook this weekend, as the American comes into the event in excellent recent form. Scheffler was last in action at The Players, finishing a shot clear of the field to land victory at the Players Stadium Course. He was excellent on the final day of action, finishing eight-under.

Scheffler is very challenging to oppose this weekend, but it could be worth taking a chance on a player who also excelled at the recent Players. Wyndham Clark finished a shot off the pace in that event, and he could be good value to go one better this weekend.
