Event Preview
The PGA Tour resets this week, as the WWT Championship kicks off the new campaign in Mexico. A host of players will be aiming to make a fast start to the new campaign, and it could be a winnable event with many of the top-ranked players missing from the line-up.
Ben Griffin will be a likely contender based on his form throughout 2025. Griffin made his Ryder Cup debut a couple of months ago, and he has enjoyed a breakout calendar year after registering two wins. The American also has experience at the WWT Championship after finishing in the top 25 on two previous occasions.
Garrick Higgo will also be a leading chance based on his recent form. The South African star has finished in the top ten on his three previous starts, and has finished in the top five on each of his last two appearances. Based on that evidence, he will go close once again this weekend.
Rico Hoey is challenging to overlook when it comes to the leading contenders this week. The Filipino was second at the recent Bank of Utah Championship, which ensured his spot on the PGA Tour for 2026. His red-hot form has seen him finish in the top ten on three of his last four starts.
WWT Championship Picks
Michael Brennan could be a player worth siding with this weekend. The American is a two-time winner in 2025, and his red-hot form could ensure that he is set to make an immediate impression on the PGA Tour across the coming weekend.
