Fight Preview
Coached by legendary Fedor Emelianenko, Valentin Moldavsky is one of Bellator’s best heavyweights ever. This year, however, he’s competing in the PFL, where he’s one of the top favorites to win the $1M prize in the Heavyweight Tournament.
He’s 12-3-1 overall, with all three of his losses happening against hard-hitting opponents. The most recent of those defeats happened against Linton Vassell, a 6’4 fighter with 10 wins by KO/TKO.
The bad news for Moldavsky is that he’s now facing a guy who’s even more dangerous when it comes to striking. The man in question is the former PFL champion, Ante Delija.
The Croatian fighter is 6’5 tall and has a 24-5 record, with 11 wins by KO/TKO. He’s won his last five fights, including the championship fight in 2022 that added $1M to his bank account.
Last year, however, he only fought once (and won) due to a knee injury. Fast-forward to April 2024 and he looks ready for a comeback.
Valentin Moldavsky vs. Ante Delija Prediction
Moldavsky is a tactical fighter with a high IQ, but physically, he’s inferior to Delija. In fact, the Croatian fighter is not only bigger and taller than him, but he’s also significantly more powerful. We just can’t see Moldavsky remaining on his feet until the end of the fight.
Instead, we think that Delija will put him to sleep quickly, thus earning himself some bonus points in the PFL ranking system.
Pick: Ante Delija by KO/TKO
