Magomed Ankalaev vs. Bogdan Guskov
- Pick: Ankalaev via TKO
- Why: Guskov always brings massive knockout power, but stepping in on short notice against an elite tactician like Ankalaev is an incredibly tall order. Expect Ankalaev to neutralize the early storm with distance management and wrestling before breaking Guskov down late.
Steve Erceg vs. Ramazan Temirov
- Pick: Erceg via Decision.
- Why: Temirov’s power makes him extremely dangerous, and according the odds, a light favorite here. However, Erceg’s championship-level experience and crisp and his high-level boxing should pull him through. Erceg will use his length and volume to win the rounds all while approaching tactically to this event.
Islam Dulatov vs. Wellington Turman
- Pick: Dulatov via Stoppage
- Why: Dulatov’s massive size advantage and explosive power could be a nightmare for Turman. While Turman is a capable grappler, he tends to struggle against strikers. And Dulatov is a ferocious one.
Magomed Zaynukov vs. Damian Rzepecki
- Pick: Zaynukov
- Why: A classic clash of undefeated prospects. Rzepecki is dangerous, but the elite wrestling pedigree out of Team Makhachev gives Zaynukov the edge here. Whoever wrestles with Islam has to be above-average on the mat and always has our support.
Rizvan Kuniev vs. Tyrell Fortune
- Pick: Kuniev
- Why: Fortune’s high-level wrestling is a major test, but Kuniev’s stellar 93% takedown defense should keep this standing. On the feet, Kuniev’s high-volume kickboxing should outpace Fortune over three rounds.
Ismael Bonfim vs. Axel Sola
- Pick: Bonfim
- Why: Back-to-back losses have slowed Bonfim’s momentum, but he remains a brutally explosive striker. Sola is a strong newcomer, but Bonfim’s desperation to bounce back should yield a highly aggressive, statement performance. UFC odds aren’t in Bonfim’s favor, which makes this one the best longshot of the night.
Prop Pick of the Night
- Why: As stated, Dulatov is huge, and he likes to explode in the opening round, and 11 of his 12 wins came inside the opening three minutes. Also, 5 of Dulatov’s last 6 fights saw him knocking out his rivals in the first round.
