Fight Preview

Rose Namajunas (11-6) is a former two-time Women’s Strawweight Champion of the UFC. The first time she lost the championship belt happened when Jessica Andrade KO-ed her with a spectacular slam. She got her revenge in the rematch, winning by a split decision.

It was a non-title fight, but Namajunas then went on to beat Zhang Weili in the title fight. She defended it against the same opponent, who’s the current title holder. However, in 2022, Namajunas lost her title to Carla Esparza by a split decision.

Thug then decided to move to the flyweight division, but that didn’t prove as the right choice – she lost to Manon Fiorot by unanimous decision. The result is that she’s now on a two-fight skid, which she’s determined to end this coming Saturday.

The UFC on ESPN 53 odds suggest she’s likely to do it, but Amanda Ribas (13-4) has no intention of entering the Octagon waving a white flag. The Brazilian fighter is a real warrior who doesn’t mind getting hurt. She’s got plenty of weapons in her arsenal, as well as great cardio.

Amanda Ribas vs. Rose Namajunas Prediction

We think this is going to be a hell of a fight. No one should scold Dana White & Co. for choosing Ribas vs. Namajunas to headline UFC on ESPB 53 as both fighters are likely to throw all they’ve got at one another.

This is going to be a bloody battle, but we do think Namajunas will get a win. It’s just that her fight portfolio is way, way more impressive than the one of Ribas.
