Fight Preview

All 10 of Tyson Pedro’s wins happened by a finish – five by KO/TKO and five by submission. The Australian is a Swiss knife of a fighter with all kinds of weapons in his arsenal. He’s got a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Japanese jiu-jitsu, and kempo, and also has plenty of experience with boxing and kickboxing.

Now a 32-year-old, Pedro has been fighting professionally for more than a decade. But even before making his pro debut, he was actively involved with the MMA through his father John Pedro who’s the man who brought this sport to Australia.

With such a background, you can be certain that Pedro does not fear anyone, much less his next opponent, Vitor Petrino, who’s been in the UFC for only about a year.

A Dana White Contender Series alumnus, Petrino fought three UFC fights in 2023, beating Anton Turkalj, Marcin Pachnio, and Modestas Bukauskas.

The win over Bukauskas is important because the Lithuanian is the fighter who inflicted Pedro his last loss. It happened a year ago when we saw Pedro lose by a decision after three rounds in which he got seriously beaten up.

He gassed out quickly and can consider himself lucky for not getting finished by Bukauskas.

Vitor Petrino vs. Tyson Pedro Prediction

Tyson Pedro is a much better finisher than his next opponent, but it’s Vitor Petrino who’s got better stamina. That said, if Pedro doesn’t finish him quickly in the first round, we’ll probably see Petrino destroy him in the next two rounds.
