Vettori vs. Dolidze 2 Fight Preview
Vettori (19-7-1) is favored at -131, largely because he has already defeated Dolidze once. However, since that win, he has fought just once – he fought and lost by a unanimous decision loss to Jared Cannonier in 2023.
His inactivity raises questions about ring rust, but oddsmakers seem to have faith in him. They seem to think he’s still a remains a high-output striker with solid durability. The bad news for The Italian Dream is that the same goes for Roman Dolidze, who’s also a fine wrestler/grappler.
Dolidze (14-3) has never been finished in his career, with each three of his losses happening by decision – including the one to Vettori.
He boasts wins over big names like Jack Hermansson and Kevin Holland, who are at least as good strikers as Vettori.
Speaking of striking, he lands 3.16 significant strikes per minute, but he also absorbs 3.38. This could be a problem against Vettori’s pace unless he does better defensively. We think he might.
Given his previous loss, he may adjust his approach, using clinch control and grappling to neutralize Vettori’s striking.
Vettori vs. Dolidze 2 Prediction
Unlike their first fight, this one may be more strategic. Dolidze is likely to focus on controlling the pace rather than engaging in a striking battle. Expect a full 25-minute fight, with the judges favoring Dolidze in a close decision.
