Saints vs. Lions Odds
Game Preview
It’s time to see Kellen Moore and his system on the big stage. The former Cowboys and Chargers OC has a solid and talented offensive core at his disposal. Some would say a perfect instrument for his experiments.
Apart from young Tyler Shough, who has been a QB breakthrough in the second part of the season, Moore will have veteran WR Chris Olave and two RBs, Alvin Kamara and Travis Etienne Jr. Knowing that Shough can run as well, this makes the Saints a very potent and versatile team on the offensive side of the ball.
Lions had a mediocre last season, but they are ready to rebound. The unit’s backbone stayed in Michigan, with head coach Dan Campbell still leading the way. Injuries troubled them throughout that campaign, as Lions simply had too many of them.
We don’t expect any changes to their game plan. They are still going to rely upon offense led by QB Jared Goff, WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Jahmyr Gibbs. On the defensive side, Aidan Hutchinson, one of the NFL DPOY favorites, leads the way.
Saints vs. Lions Head to Head
After 28 games, the Saints lead the series 14-13-1. The Lions won the last matchup in March 2023, 33-28 in Louisiana.
Saints vs. Lions Predictions
This game promises offensive football. The Saints might have slightly better defense than the Lions, but the Lions’ offense is currently at a higher level than their rival’s. Our betting pick is the Lions to win and cover a 7-point spread.
