Both LAFC and Colorado Rapids spent only a short time in the 2023 Leagues Cup. The Rapids lost both of their group-stage games, so they weren’t able to advance to the knockout stage. Meanwhile, being the current MLS champion, LAFC started its Leagues Cup campaign in the knockout phase.
After demolishing Juarez 7-0, and beating Real Salt Lake 4-0, the boys from California lost to Monterrey 3-2 in the quarterfinal. It was a soul-crushing defeat as LAFC had a 2-0 lead at halftime. Still, there’s a silver lining – the loss meant that they’re going to have more time to prepare for the return of the 2023 MLS.
So, are they ready for the clash with Colorado Rapids? Even if they weren’t, they’d still be considered huge favorites against the worst team in the Western Conference. The Rapids have been horrible this season, especially on the road, with their last four away matches in the MLS all resulting in a defeat.
Los Angeles FC vs. Colorado Rapids Prediction
Los Angeles FC has one of the best offenses in North America; the Rapids are among the worst teams when it comes to defending. That’s why it’s only logical to assume that LAFC is going to run riot on the Rapids on Sunday.
