Match Preview

This week looks set to be a huge one for Luton in their bid to avoid relegation in the Premier League this term. The Hatters remain in the bottom three spots in the current standings, but a home win over Brighton would see them move out of the relegation places and up to 17th. Luton come into the match after going two without a victory in the division, but they showed their battling qualities in their previous outing against Burnley.

In that fixture, the Hatters stole a point in the closing stages when Carlton Morris netted a 92nd-minute equalizer. It was nothing less than the Hatters deserved for their performance at Turf Moor. The goal means that the Luton have now scored ten in the final ten minutes of Premier League matches this term. Only Liverpool have scored in the closing stages more regularly this term.

Brighton will also be desperate for the points this week, as they have struggled for victories in recent months after playing out draws in three of their last four matches. That has seen the Seagulls drop to seventh in the standings, but they are within three points of sixth in the standings.

Brighton’s most recent draw was a 0-0 outcome against Wolves on January 22. That was a second goalless draw in their last five matches, and they looked incredibly light in the final third of the field. The result also means that the Seagulls have now landed just three wins from their last 15 matches in the competition, but they have played out eight draws over that period.

Luton vs Brighton Prediction

This could be a challenging match to predict on Tuesday, as both teams will have questions to answer. However, it could be worth siding with the away team bouncing back to winning ways at Kenilworth Road.
