Event Preview
The Grand Slam season gets underway in tennis in the middle of January, as the Australian Open gets underway. The opening major of the season will once again be staged at Melbourne Park, with the worldโs best set to be involved. This event has been staged annually since 1905, with this yearโs event being the 56th of the Open Era.
Novak Djokovic appears to be the standout star to consider this year, as the Serbian looks to win a record-extending eleventh title. Djokovic has been extremely dominant throughout modern history, winning four of the previous five events. Last year, he continued that dominance with a three-set demolition against Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Carlos Alcaraz could be the most interesting contender once again, as the Spanish star targets a third Grand Slam title. He bypassed the Australian Open last year, before winning at Wimbledon and losing in the semi-finals at both the French Open and US Open. His previous best appearance at the Grand Slam came in 2022 when he reached the third round.
Rafael Nadal made his return from a long injury layoff at the prep tournament in Brisbane, landing victory. The Spanish star won this event in 2022, but he will need to be back to his very best if he is to regain the honor. Daniil Medvedev could be an interesting outsider after reaching two finals in the last three years.
Australian Open Prediction
An interesting first Grand Slam event of the year is set, and there will be a fascinating battle between the players at the top of the betting. However, we find it challenging to overlook Djokovicโs clear claims.
