Game Preview

Wolves remain locked in the battle to avoid relegation in the Premier League this term. The team from the Black Country sits just one point above the relegation places after going three league matches without a victory. Wolves have also lost three of their last five.

The sides from the Midlands showed their fighting qualities in their previous outing, as they picked up a 1-1 draw at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest. However, the effort by Daniel Podence was their only shot on target against one of the leakiest defenses in the league.

Bruno Saltor became the third coach to take charge of Chelsea this season in midweek. However, the same issues that led to the downfall of Graham Potter remained evident. The Blues were extremely wasteful in the final third against Liverpool, missing a number of glorious opportunities.

The draw means that Chelsea remains eleventh in the standings, but they have now played at least one more game than the six sides directly above them. However, Chelsea has an excellent record against Wolves, as they have lost just three of 19 meetings this century.

Prediction

A low-scoring fixture between these two sides looks like an extremely solid bet this weekend, given that both Chelsea and Wolves struggle in the final third. However, we could see Wolves edging to a huge 1-0 win as they are unbeaten in two previous matches between the sides at Molineux.
