What Does ‘WDW’ Mean in Sports Betting?

what-does-wdw-mean

It is the name of a very common betting market, particularly in soccer, where a draw is a frequent outcome.

Understanding the WDW Bet

A Win-Draw-Win bet is a wager on the final outcome of a match with three possible results:

OutcomeMeaning
Win (1)The home team wins the match.
Draw (X)The match ends in a tie.
Win (2)The away team wins the match.
  • Other Names: This market is also often referred to as the “Match Result” market or “1X2” (where 1 is the home team, X is the draw, and 2 is the away team).
  • Settlement: Crucially, this bet generally only applies to the result at the end of regular time (usually 90 minutes plus any stoppage time). Any results from extra time or penalty shootouts do not count, unless otherwise specified by the bookmaker.

For example, if you bet on a “Draw” in a cup match, and the score is 1-1 after 90 minutes, your bet is a winner—even if one team goes on to win 2-1 in extra time.
