By · Updated 3 weeks ago

Live performances are a running staple of Las Vegas, including comedy shows. If you’ve ever been to Vegas, you know the importance of a good live show, whether it’s a singing, dancing, or variety performance. The comedy shows are on another level as comedians perform numerous comedy styles, including cultural and political humor, ventriloquism, and more.

With a long list of top-tier comedy shows currently running in Sin City, it might be hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. However, these shows have been the leading names of the comedy industry in Las Vegas. Prepare yourself for a world of laughter with these shows.

Carrot Top

  • Ticket price: $53+
  • Review ratings: 4.5/5
  • Headlining from: 2018
  • Location: Luxor Hotel & Casino, 3900 Las Vegas Blvd

Carrot Top might not be a name you were expecting to see on this list, but the comedian has been a staple in comedy for years. Interestingly, he only started headlining at the Luxor in 2018. Still, he managed to separate himself from the crowd only in a few short years, thanks to his quick wit and engaging personality.

Carrot Top relies on self-deprecating humor, meaning the show is not suitable for children. However, he has 35 trucks filled with show props, meaning you’re in for quite a ride with prop-heavy humor. The show is still running in 2021 in a socially distant manner.

Blue Man Group

  • Headlining from: 1988

You’ve probably heard of the Blue Man Group. The comedy team was formed in 1987 by three friends, and over the years, they have managed to create running shows all over the US, including Boston, Chicago, and New York.

The group customizes all of its shows depending on the location, so the attendees of the Las Vegas venue can expect a variety of flashing lights and many more surprises. Each Blue Man Group show features its signature music and comedy adapted to fit the changing times.

The show is family-friendly, so you don’t have to worry about inappropriate content. The group is retaking the Las Vegas stage from June 24, 2021.

In 2019, his act secured him a resident place at the Flamingo, attracting thousands of spectators each year. Piff entertains the crowd with jaw-dropping magic tricks with the help of his sidekick, a chihuahua.

Many viewers have praised his comedic skills as well. Besides, his shows have been critically acclaimed, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that most of his 2021 shows have already been sold out. So, if you’re planning on seeing Piff the Magic Dragon, we recommend you grab the tickets while you still can.

Penn & Teller

Penn and Teller have been performing together since 1975, taking up Las Vegas residency 18 years later and still running. They might not be as popular as they once were, especially with younger audiences, but the Penn & Teller show is still one of the highest-rated shows in Sin City.

Aside from the outrageous magic, both Penn and Teller are exceptional comedians that will make you laugh for hours. What’s more, some have renamed them into truth-tellers as their show is not only intelligently thought through but hits right in the target.

The show will run for the whole month of May and a few days in April and June 2021. Be sure to purchase your tickets if you’re into an old-fashioned comedy show.

Terry Fator

  • Ticket price: $45+
  • Review ratings: 4.8/5
  • Headlining from: 2009

Fator is consistently ranked as one of the most paid comedians globally, but he specializes in ventriloquism. Over the years, he has developed his unique brand of entertainment that attracts numerous people around the world. He combines signing and celebrity impressions into his comedy routine, as well.

The show is not always kid-friendly, so you might want to leave your little ones at home just to be sure.

Tape Face

  • Ticket price: $81+
  • Review ratings: 4.5/5
  • Headlining from: 2018
  • Location: Harrah’s Las Vegas, 3475 S Las Vegas Blvd

Another America’s Got Talent alumni — Tape Face is one of the most interesting and eccentric performers you’ll come across, not only in Vegas but in the world. As the name suggests, you can expect to see a man with a piece of tape over his face, particularly his mouth. You’ve guessed it; Tape Face doesn’t speak during his comedic routine, making the show that much more amusing.

He performs hilarious stunts and actions with the help of props and music throughout the show, frequently interacting with the audience. Unfortunately, that’s something you can’t see now, but it won’t take away from the show. The show is quite weird, so it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. However, many reviewers have dubbed it family-friendly, so why not see what all the fuss is about?

  • Ticket price: $45+
  • Review ratings: 4.5/5
  • Headlining from: 2012

He either headlines the comedy nights or hosts them alongside other top-tier comedians. However, he’s not always present, so look up the comedians performing before you head on over.

This show presents a great comic perspective on everyday life, and it is often not kid-friendly. This is a comedy show that won’t disappoint if you’re a true comedy lover. The comedy club will be opened in May and June 2021.
