Event Preview
The action in Formula 1 continues this weekend, as the drivers will be in competition Down Under. The Australian Grand Prix has been staged annually since 1928, with Albert Park Circuit playing host to the event since 1996. It returned to the F1 schedule after being absent for back-to-back years in 2020 and 2021 in 2022.
A total distance of 306.124 km will be covered by the field in the race, with the distance being covered by 58 laps. A dramatic renewal of the race was staged last year, with Max Verstappen coming home to take victory by just under a second from Lewis Hamilton. Fernando Alonso also finished on the podium, with Sergio Perez scoring the fastest lap.

Max Verstappen appears very challenging to overlook in terms of the race win this weekend, as the Dutchman is chasing a third straight victory. Red Bull have also been dominant across the early races of the season, achieving one-two finishes in each of the opening two races. That dominance was clear to see in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, with Verstappen finishing over 20 seconds clear of Charles Leclerc.
Mercedes have made a slow start to the season, and their plans to bring upgrades to Australia have been pushed back. McLaren could be good value to achieve a podium finish this weekend, as Oscar Piastri continued to show his progression after finishing a close fourth in Saudi Arabia.
Australian Grand Prix Prediction
Verstappen appears to be the most likely winner once again this weekend. But, value could be found with a wager on Piastri to finish on the podium in his home race.
