Event Preview

One of the standout early season events on the PGA Tour is set for the iconic Pebble Beach this week, as a $20 million purse will be up for grabs at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Unsurprisingly, Scottie Scheffler is once again the dominant favorite to win the event. The world number one rallied at the Phoenix Open last weekend to take T3, and his overall record deserves major respect, having finished in the top ten on his last 18 starts.

Rory McIlroy is an eye-catching price this week, especially considering that he won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 12 months ago. The Northern Irishman warmed up for this event with a fine T3 at the Dubai Invitational. His price makes plenty of appeal.

Justin Rose is continuing to play at an extremely high level. Rose was a winner of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am back in 2023, and his eye-catching record at the course also includes a win at Pebble Beach in the 2019 U.S. Open.

Jason Day’s record at Pebble Beach also brings him into contention. The Australian has finished in the top 20 on 15 starts at the course, while he also finished T21 at the 2019 U.S. Open. Should be thereabouts after an impressive T2 at PGA West.

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Picks

For the second week running, Scheffler is too short in the betting for my liking. Instead, Viktor Hovland is an eye-catching play at +3000. The European has achieved two top-25 finishes in four starts at the course, and his red-hot form has seen him claim seven consecutive top-25 finishes.
