The season-ending action on the PGA Tour continues in Maryland this weekend, as Bellerive Country Club hosts the second event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. It was a dominant start to the post-season for Scottie Scheffler, with the world number one streaking clear at the St. Jude Championship.

The American will be the favored selection once again this weekend at the best golf betting sites. But, could Scheffler be opposable at the event that he won 12 months ago?  Find our BMW Championship picks here.

Event Preview

The top 50 players on the PGA Tour will be in action this weekend, as Bellerive Country Club hosts the second event on the FedEx Cup Playoff schedule. The BMW Championship was first staged in 2007, with this weekend’s event being the first staged at the Missouri course since Camilo Villegas’ win in 2008.

Scottie Scheffler is undeniably the man to beat after a stunning victory at the St. Jude Championship last weekend. The world number one streaked clear of the field, winning by a comfortable eight-shot margin. The victory extended his advantage at the top of the standings, and he will be hard to beat in his bid to win back-to-back editions of the BMW Championship.

Hideki Matsuyama is one of the interesting alternatives, as the Japanese star has been playing at a very consistent level in recent weeks. Since finishing T14 at the Open Championship, he has finished in the top ten on his previous four starts.

Si Woo Kim was the runner-up at the St. Jude Championship and should be respected after finishing in the top ten on eleven occasions. Xander Schauffele should be capable of another strong run after following up his runner-up finish at the Rocket Classic with a T7 last weekend.

Ludvig Aberg is due a big prize and his form should put him in the frame after racking up back-to-back top tens. Wyndham Clark’s long game should make him interesting after posting a T5 at the St. Jude Championship, while Viktor Hovland threatened to get involved last weekend before settling for T19.

BMW Championship Picks

Once again, I’m happy to take a chance against the favorite. Sam Burns may be winless since the Match Play in 2023, but his consistency deserves a positive result soon. Burns finished as the runner-up in the BMW Championship in 2024, and his consistency has seen him finish T3, 3, T12, and 2 on his last four starts.
