Event Preview
The Shriners Children’s Open is the feature event on the PGA Tour this weekend. A talented field of stars will be competing for their share of the $8.4 million purse, with a total distance of 7,255 yards covered in Las Vegas.
The 72-hole record is jointly held by four stars, with Tom Kim becoming the latest to finish with an aggregate total of 260 in 2022. Marc Turnesa holds the par record over 72 holes, finishing 25-under in 2008.
Tom Kim is a deserving favorite at the top of the betting, having won each of the last two editions of the event. Kim finished a shot clear of Adam Hadwin in 2023 to become the first player since Jim Furyk in 1999 to win in consecutive years.

Kim warmed up for his defense of the title by taking a share of 50th at the St. Jude Championship in August.
Tom Hoge could be an interesting contender this weekend after making the cut in his last four appearances. His best showing came last time out when claiming a share of seventh in the Procore Championship.
Seamus Power also brings some strong recent form to the table this weekend after claiming a share of eleventh at the Black Desert Championship last weekend. The Irish star also finished in the same position at the Sanderson Farms Championship at the start of the month.
Shriners Children’s Open Picks
Matti Schmid could be a player hitting form at just the right time to compete this weekend. He has already finished in the top 20 at the 3M Open, and has made the cut 12 of his last 13 appearances.
