Event Preview

Competitive year-ending action on the PGA Tour is set for the Bahamas this weekend, as the Hero World Challenge gets underway on Dec 4. A total distance of 7,414 yards will be covered by the field in the stroke play event, with a purse of $5 million being up for grabs.

Top-ranked player Scottie Scheffler will be among the leading chances after winning each of the last two editions of the event. Scheffler’s form has been consistent throughout the season, and his know-how of this course will make him very challenging to oppose.

Robert MacIntyre is another player worth considering this weekend after finishing seventh on his debut appearance 12 months ago. The Scotsman has been in excellent form throughout the season, and has finished in the top ten on his last two appearances.

Cameron Young’s form also deserves special respect this weekend. The American will be playing in the Hero World Challenge for the second time. His form throughout this season has been excellent, winning the Wyndham Championship, and finishing in the top ten on three occasions.

Hero World Challenge Picks

A red-hot edition of the Hero World Challenge gets underway on Dec 4, and it is extremely challenging to overlook Scheffler. The top-ranked player has won the last two editions of the event, and has also finished in the top-two spots on two further occasions since 2019.
