Event Preview
Eye-catching golf action is set for the Middle East this weekend, as the Saudi International gets underway on Wednesday. This event is funded by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, and was previously an event on the European Tour. Nowadays, it is a part of the Asian International Tour Series, with the field competing for their share of the $5 million purse.
A total distance of 7,411 yards will be covered at the Riyadh Golf Club, which has hosted the competition since 2024. As expected, a number of the players on the LIV Golf Tour will be in action this weekend, including Joaquin Niemann, who is the reigning champion of the Saudi International.
Niemann is a seven-time winner on the LIV Golf schedule, which includes an impressive five victories on the tour this calendar year. His record at this event deserves respect, and he is unlikely to be far away.
Tyrrell Hatton is also competitively priced this weekend after bouncing back to his very best form in the second half of the year. The Englishman was last in action taking a share of third at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai last weekend.
Saudi International Picks
It has been a patchy period of form for Cameron Smith, but he typically excels around this course. He held his nerve to finish second in the event 12 months ago, and positives could be taken from his performances on the LIV Golf schedule in the final weeks of the season.
