Event Preview
The Valspar Championship was first staged back in 2000, with the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Course in operation. Players will compete across 7,340 yards at the par 71 event.
Two of the top three from last weekend’s Players Championship will dominate the betting this weekend, with Matt Fitzpatrick likely to be a standout chance after playing his way back into form after finishing second at TPC Sawgrass. The Englishman holds a strong record at this weekend’s event, finishing T5 back in 2022.
Xander Schauffele will be a deserving favorite after finishing in the top 12 on three previous appearances at the Valspar Championship. The American’s red-hot form was maintained with a third-place finish at the Players last time out.
Justin Thomas continued to show his excellent form after a long injury layoff, finishing T8 at Sawgrass last weekend. The American has finished in the top 20 on six occasions in this weekend’s event, and was runner-up 12 months ago.
Viktor Hovland will be hard to dismiss after winning the Valspar 12 months ago. Since then, the Norwegian has made the cut in every start, and has finished in the top 15 on three starts already in 2026.
Valspar Championship Picks
A number of players have leading claims this weekend, but Canadian Corey Conners could be a fascinating contender at a bigger price. Conners has finished in the top 20 on two of his last three trips to the event, and his excellent consistency on the PGA Tour continued last weekend when taking a share of 13th.
