A notable weekend in fine-tuning the pecking order in the juvenile divisions is set for across North America, with the pictures for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies likely to become clearer. The Alcibiades Stakes has been a notable prep for recent victors of Breeders’ Cup races, with Immersive and Wonder Wheel following up at the season-ending two-day meeting.
Summer Starlet has looked like a potential star to this point for Steven Asmussen. The filly by City of Light has won on back-to-back starts, setting an impressive Equibase rating of 94 when winning the G1 Spinaway at Saratoga at the start of September. That race has produced the winner of the Alcibiades Stakes in each of the last two years.
Emphatic also boasts a perfect record under rules, with the Nyquist filly trained by Brendan Walsh. She will step into graded company for the first time this weekend after winning the Sorority Stakes last time with an Equibase rating of 82.
Forever Carina could be one of the most interesting contenders for the in-form Chad Brown yard. The Gun Runner filly will be suited by this step up in trip after winning emphatically at Saratoga at the end of August. Entitled to come forward after an eye-catching Equibase rating of 80.
