The G1 Darley Alcibiades Stakes is the feature race from Keeneland on Friday, as a field of fillies aged two compete over a distance of 1 1/16 miles. As well as offering a purse of $650,000, the winner will also secure their spot in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.
Tommy Jo will be a red-hot favorite for the Todd Pletcher team this week, as she bids to register a third straight win. She holds a clear advantage over the field based on the form in the book, which includes a six-length win over Percy’s Bar in the G1 Spinaway Stakes.
That form gives Percy’s Bar a mountain to climb this weekend. However, a better run is likely, as the runner-up in the Spinaway is likely to be raced nearer to the prace. The two-year-old was progressive before that defeat, winning on her first two starts under rules.
Go To Girl has a recent victory to her name, and Kenneth McPeek’s fillies always deserve huge respect. Haute Diva is a fascinating runner having got off the mark at the fourth attempt last time out. She could be primed for a bold showing now up to a mile and sixteenth.
