Race Preview
One of the standout races on the summer schedule for the fillies and mares is set for Saturday at Saratoga, as the G1 Personal Ensign Stakes will be run. This race has been a notable prep for the Breeders’ Cup Distaff in recent years, with two of the last three winners following up in the championship race.
All eyes will be on the most talented filly in the U.S. this weekend, as Thorpedo Anna chases a tenth stakes victory. The Kenneth McPeek-runner bounced back from a no-show in the G1 La Troienne Stakes in June, landing a three-length victory over Royal Spa in the G2 Fleur de Lis. She remains clear on ratings, and looked back to her very best last time out.

Leslie’s Rose is an interesting runner for the Todd Pletcher yard this weekend. The four-year-old put in a dominant display over course and distance last time to win the G2 Shuvee Stakes. But, it is worth noting that she has been beaten by Thorpedo Anna on three occasions, losing by an accumulated 65 lengths.
Raging Sea upset the odds to beat Idiomatic in this race last year, before finishing second to Thorpedo Anna in the Distaff. However, her 2025 season is yet to take off, finishing third and six lengths behind Dorth Vader in the G1 Ogden Phipps. She was also 13 lengths behind Leslie’s Rose last time.
