Mick Stanton is defending his Middleweight title in the CW164 Newcastle main event. The English fighter is 12-7 overall with a 2-0 record since returning to Cage Warriors earlier this year. Before that, “The Huyton Hammer” had a stint in the Full Contact Contender (FCC) and Professional Fighters League (PFL).
This guy is a fantastic striker, the evidence being that 42% of his wins happened by knockout/technical knockout. Stanton also has a background in submission wrestling, which is why it’s kind of surprising that four of his losses happened by submission.
Should this worry him ahead of the fight with Dario Bellandi? Nicknamed “Neanderthal”, the Italian fighter is a well-rounded martial artist who’s got two wins by submission in his portfolio. Still, his strongest weapon is boxing.
