Fight Preview
Raquel Pennington is 16-8 overall with 17 of those fights going the distance. She’s a real marathon fighter who’s tough as nails, but also very tactical. She likes to get ahold of her opponents and keep them pinned to the side of the Octagon for as long as possible.
That’s pretty much how she grinded her way to the UFC Women’s Bantamweight title against Bueno Silva. And that’s exactly what we expect she’ll try to do at UFC 307.
One of the key reasons why we think she might pull it off is that the event is taking place in Salt Lake City, which is at a high altitude of over 4,000 feet. She’s used to such conditions given that she lives in Colorado Springs (6,000+ feet).

Her next opponent, Julianna Pena, isn’t used to a high altitude. Nor has she fought for over two years. The last time she fought, Amanda Nunes demolished her, landing three knockdowns.
Raquel Pennington vs. Julianna Pena Prediction
Julianna Pena is probably a more technical fighter than Raquel Pennington, but her skills probably aren’t as sharp as they were a few years ago. Given that she hasn’t fought in over two years, we suspect she’s got some ring rust.
Plus, the fight is taking place at a high elevation, which is something that suits Pennington much more.
