Aleksandar Rakic (14-4) was once thought of as a future champ, but then he suffered a bad shoulder injury in 2022 that forced him to stay out of the Octagon for almost two years. He returned last April only to lose to Jiri Prochazka by TKO. As a result, he’s 0-2 in his last two fights, with his last win happening back in early 2021.
According to SportsBible, he earned $74,000 for his last fight, meaning that this guy hasn’t been living high from his UFC salary. Given that it was his only fight in the last 24 months, that accounts for $3,083 per month, which is only about $300 more than the average salary in his hometown of Vienna, Austria (according to Numbeo).
But if he beats Magomed Ankalaev (18-1-2), he will ensure a lucrative future for himself. If he loses, on the other hand, he’d be probably better off leaving the UFC for the PFL, ONE FC, or even Europe’s finest MMA promotion, the KSW.
On top of everything, his UFC contract runs out in 2026, so this could be one of his final fights – if he loses, of course.
