Uros “The Doctor” Medic (13-3) steps into the biggest moment of his professional career as he gets to headline the UFC’s inaugural event on home soil in Belgrade. Medic is coming in with massive momentum following a spectacular, first-round knockout victory over the veteran Geoff Neal back in February.
Known as one of the most violent and uncompromising starters in the welterweight division, Medic has never reached the final horn inside the octagon. Fighting in front of a home crowd, he will look to unleash his signature blitzing pressure and thunderous left hand early to secure a finish that might even lead him to a title eliminator.
Daniel “D-Rod” Rodriguez (18-5) makes the dangerous trip to the Balkans aiming to play the ultimate spoiler and quiet the Belgrade Arena. The 39-year-old California veteran is known for his toughness and high-volume boxing stance. Rodriguez enters this showdown riding a three-bout winning streak during which he beat Alex Monroe, Santiago Ponzinibbio and Kevin Holland.
D-Rod is incredibly difficult to put away, possessing elite defensive boxing layers and an iron chin. His game plan will rely on surviving the initial first-round storm and dragging the explosive Serb into deep waters over the five-round distance.
