Shevchenko (24-4-1) reclaimed her title in a hard-fought decision win over Alexa Grasso. The fight lasted for the full 25 minutes, and Valentina had to rely on her wrestling to get a win.
It was actually a wrestling masterclass that saw her score a career-best eight takedowns. She also did great striking-wise, landing nearly 3x more significant strikes than Alexa.
But now she’s up against Fiorot, a completely different beast. The French fighter is 12-1, riding a 12-fight win streak since her debut loss in 2018.
Her game is all about volume and precision, the evidence being that in her last fight, she landed 172 significant strikes against Erin Blanchfield, a number Valentina has never touched in her career.
