Tracy Cortez walks in as the favorite, but this one’s far from a lock. She’s coming off a tough 5-round loss to Thug Rose. She didn’t get finished, but Tracy got really beaten up – Namajunas landed almost 2x strikes as her and made five takedowns.
That was Tracy’s first loss since her very first professional fight, which she lost by decision. As a result, she’s now 11-2 overall. What’s interesting is that nine of those wins happened by decision, including all five UFC fights she’s won so far.
Viviane Araújo is a much more dangerous finisher. She’s 13-6 with seven finishes. That’s actually a fantastic resume given that she’s been through real wars in the Octagon. She’s fought Alexa Grasso, Amanda Ribas, and many other elite opponents who were in their prime at the time.
