- Nasourdine Imavov vs. Caio Borralho is the main event of UFC Paris on September 6.
- Imavov and Alex Pereira are the only men who defeated Israel Adesanya by TKO.
- Borralho won each of his last 14 fights and is favored to add a 15th win to his resume.
Seven months ago, Nasourdine Imavov beat legendary Israel Adesanya with a TKO after only 5 minutes and 30 seconds. The win has given him a massive confidence boost, and he wants to cash it in at UFC Paris against Caio Borralho. The problem is that MMA odds suggest the Brazilian will win. Nasourdine Imavov vs. Caio Borralho Odds
Nasourdine Imavov vs. Caio Borralho Preview
Imavov (16-4-1, 8-3-1 UFC) is coming off the biggest win of his career – a second-round TKO over Israel Adesanya. This guy’s nicknamed “The Sniper” for his striking precision, landing 4.45 significant strikes per minute with sharp boxing fundamentals. Imavov has seven career KO/TKO victories, along with four wins by submission.
He boasts a 78% takedown defense, having frustrated submission specialists like Brendan Allen in the past. Another big advantage of this guy is that he’s got a chin made of concrete, the evidence being that he’s never been KO-ed. In fact, he has only lost inside the distance once, back in 2016, by submission on his pro debut.
Borralho (17-1-1, 8-0 UFC) brings one of the most balanced games in the division. A member of Brazil’s Fighting Nerds team, he has beaten names like Jared Cannonier and Paul Craig, combining knockout power (five KOs), submissions (four), and smart decision wins (eight).
He absorbs just 2.34 strikes per minute while landing 3.61, and mixes in 1.56 takedowns per 15 minutes with 76% defense. Though versatile, Borralho has recently leaned more toward striking, scoring one knockdown in each of his last three fights. But if he decides to go with the same game plan on September 6, it can easily backfire.
Nasourdine Imavov vs. Caio Borralho Prediction
This fight looks destined for all five rounds, with both men durable and technical. Borralho’s well-roundedness is impressive, but if he boxes with Imavov, the accuracy and volume of “The Sniper” should sway the judges.
