UFC Paris Picks for All Fights on September 6
UFC Fight Night 258 a.k.a. UFC on ESPN+ 116 or UFC Paris is on the program on Saturday, September 6, at Accor Arena in the French capital. We predict that this is going to be a super exciting event with several big betting upsets. If you’re looking for UFC Paris picks, we’ve got predictions for all matchups on the fight card.
UFC Paris Main Card Picks
- Benoit Saint Denis vs. Mauricio Ruffy – Benoit Saint Denis
- Bolaji Oki vs. Mason Jones – Mason Jones
- Modestas Bukauskas vs. Paul Craig – Modestas Bukauskas
- Fares Ziam vs. Kaue Fernandes – Fares Ziam
- Patricio Pitbull vs. Losene Keita – Patricio Pitbull
The main event of UFC Paris is so exciting that we had to do a standalone preview of the fight. If you wanna see our top pick for the September 6 headliner, make sure to read our Imavov vs. Borralho preview. For all the other main card fights, stay put!
Our first pick is Benoit Saint Denis (14-3-1), who returns to Paris after a tough stretch that saw KO and TKO losses to Dustin Poirier and Renato Moicano, before bouncing back with a dominant submission over Kyle Prepolec.
Across from him is Mauricio “One Shot” Ruffy (12-1, 3-0 UFC), a knockout machine with 11 finishes and a highlight-reel wheel kick KO of Bobby Green. This fight is all about BSD’s wrestling versus Ruffy’s explosive power. Our prediction: if Saint Denis survives the early storm, his grappling edge gives him a path to victory.
BSD is one of our two underdog picks on the main card; the other one is Patricio Pitbull. His UFC chapter started with a loss to Yair Rodriguez, but he then bounced back with a win over Dan Ige. Our prediction is that he’ll win again, even though UFC Paris odds suggest otherwise. For all the other bouts, we’re backing betting favorites, with Fares Ziam being our safest bet.
Picks for UFC Paris Prelims
- William Gomis vs. Robert Ruchala – William Gomis
- Oumar Sy vs. Brendson Ribeiro – Oumar Sy
- Marcin Tybura vs. Ante Delija – Ante Delija
- Rhys McKee vs. Axel Sola – Axel Sola
- Sam Patterson vs. Trey Waters – Sam Patterson
- Brad Tavares vs. Robert Bryczek – Brad Tavares
- Andreas Gustafsson vs. Rinat Fakhretdinov – Andreas Gustafsson
- Shauna Bannon vs. Sam Hughes – Shauna Bannon
We think MMA oddsmakers have done a fine job with their UFC Paris prelims odds. Our prediction is that minus-money favorites will win in almost every fight. In fact, the only bout in which we can smell an upset is the first fight of the day – Shauna Bannon vs. Sam Hughes.
Hughes is a -340 favorite, but given that her last two wins were by split-decision, we suspect bookmakers might be wrong on this. Plus, her opponent is coming off her arguably best performance ever – submission win over Puja Tomar, which won Bannon a Performance of the Night bonus.
