Johnny Walker (21-9-1) enters on a two-fight skid, both by brutal KO against heavy hitters Magomed Ankalaev and Volkan Oezdemir. Another loss, and he could drop out of the Top 15 in the UFC Light Heavyweight rankings.
Nevertheless, no one can argue that the Brazilian isn’t a lethal fighter with incredible knockout power. The proof of this is that 16 of his 21 wins came by knockout, including finishes of Paul Craig and Khalil Rountree.
He’s a KO king, but Zhang Mingyang is a KO emperor. The Chinese fighter is 19-6 overall, riding a 12-fight win streak, finishing every opponent along the way. Each of his nine previous fights ended via KO/TKO, including UFC wins over Brendson Ribeiro, Ozzy Diaz, and Anthony Smith (all in Round 1).
Against Smith, he absorbed just 10 strikes before scoring the stoppage in under five minutes. We’re certain that he plans to do something similar against Johnny Walker at UFC Shanghai.
