Event Preview

The relentless NASCAR calendar rolls into Michigan International Speedway this weekend, as the FireKeepers Casino 400 is broadcast on Amazon Prime. This weekend’s race has been staged since 1969, with the field completing 200 laps to make up the 400-mile race distance.

Denny Hamlin closed the gap at the top of the Drivers’ Championship last weekend after winning the Cracker Barrel 400. The American dominated from start to finish, taking pole position and also clocking the fastest lap. Hamlin has now finished in the top three in three of the last four rounds.

Tyler Reddick will likely be feeling the pressure for the first time this season, despite the fact that he has finished in the top six in the last four rounds. Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott both achieved top-ten finishes last weekend, and their consistency should be respected once again on Sunday.

Christopher Bell is also hitting form at this stage of the season, having finished second in both the Coca-Cola 600 and Cracker Barrel 400 in the last two weeks. Chase Briscoe could also go under the radar this weekend after finishing in the top five in four of the last seven races.

FireKeepers Casino 400 Picks

Ty Gibbs could be an interesting angle worth considering this weekend. Gibbs finished 13th last weekend, and has been consistent since recording his first victory of 2026. In the last three rounds, he has finished in the top six on two occasions.
