Event Preview
The fourth race on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule is set for this weekend, as the action moves to Phoenix Raceway for the Shriners Children’s 500.
This race is one of two that is staged at Phoenix throughout the season, and it has been a regular season contest since 2005. The field will compete over a total distance of 312 miles, with as many laps making up the race distance.
Kevin Harvick holds the record for the most race wins with five, while Stewart-Haas Racing and Chevrolet hold the team and manufacturer records, respectively.

It has been a dominant start to the new season for Christopher Bell, but his wins in the Ambetter Health 400 and EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix still keep him only fourth in the overall standings.
William Byron continues to lead the way in the standings after winning the Daytona 500 before taking second in the race last weekend. Despite failing to win a race so far this season, Ryan Blaney sits second in the standings.
Tyler Reddick has also enjoyed a strong start to the new season after finishing second in the Daytona 500 and claiming third in last weekend’s race.
Shriners Children’s 500 Picks
A case can be made for many of the drivers involved this weekend. However, a chance could be taken on the consistent Alex Bowman. The driver has finished in the top ten on two of his three starts this season, including when ninth in the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix last Sunday.
