Event Preview
The pressure increases on the NASCAR schedule this weekend, as the South Point 400 forms the opening race in the round of eight. This weekend’s race has been a part of the playoffs since 2020, and it will see the field compete across a distance of 400.5 miles.
Last weekend’s Bank of America Roval 400 was won by Shane van Gisbergen, with the driver maintaining his dominant record in road races in 2025. Denny Hamlin remains the driver to catch in the Drivers’ Championship, but his advantage was reduced after finishing only 23rd last time out.
There will be increased pressure on his shoulders this weekend, with all of the remaining drivers in the top eight achieving betting finishing positions last Sunday. Among those include Ryan Blaney, who claimed 13th. The driver has also finished in the top five in three of the last five races.
Kyle Larson will be a red-hot favorite this Sunday, as he chases a record-equalling second success in the South Point 400. Larson finished second last weekend, and has now finished in the top ten in each of the last three races.
South Point 400 Picks
A red-hot edition of the South Point 400 is set for this weekend. However, we like the chances of the ultra-consistent Christopher Bell. Bell sits fifth in the current standings and has finished in the top ten in each of the last five races. His high level of form has continued in recent weeks after taking third in both the Hollywood Casino 400 and the Bank of America Roval 400.
