Event Preview

A competitive edition of the Straight Talk Wireless 500 is set for this weekend, with the event covering 312 miles, with the winner crowned after the final stage consisting of 127 laps. This race has been on the Cup Series schedule since 2005.

All attention will be on Tyler Reddick this weekend, as the American bids to extend his historic three-race winning run to start the new season. Reddick made history by becoming the first NASCAR driver in history to win the opening three rounds at the Texas Grand Prix last time out.

Bubba Wallace has been consistent at the start of the season, with three top-eleven finishes, while Chase Elliott has also been driving extremely well after taking seventh in Texas last weekend to build on his fourth-place finish in the Daytona 500.

Ryan Blaney holds an excellent record in this race, and he was once again competitive when finishing eighth in Texas last time out.

Meanwhile, there will be increased pressure on the defending NASCAR Cup Series champion, Kyle Larson, and two-time winner of the Straight Talk Wireless 500, Christopher Bell, after slow starts to the 2026 season.

Straight Talk Wireless 500 Picks

A chance could be taken on Chase Briscoe this weekend after enduring a challenging weekend last time out despite taking the fastest lap. He finished second in the Autotrader 400 in the second round, and previously won this race back in 2022.
