Game Preview

After 5 wins in a row, the Hawks lost. They fell to one of the best teams in the NBA right now, the Detroit Pistons, against whom Atlanta lost, 120-112. The Hawks had a 19-point deficit, though they cut it to one midway through the fourth, without completely flipping the result.

Jalen Johnson scored 25 points with nine assists and eight boards, while Nickeil Alexander-Walker had one point fewer. Onyeka Okongwy scored 21 points. Trae is still injured, and Zaccharie Risacher missed the game due to a hip injury.

Wembanyama and Castle are injured in San Antonio, but Mitch Johnson’s boys have won the past two events despite these absences. After defeating the Kings, 123-110, the Spurs’ next victims were the Grizzlies, 111-101.

De’Aaron Fox scored 26 points, so we can say his injury is behind him. Meanwhile, veteran forward Harrison Barnes added 23, and Keldon Johnson came off the bench to add 18 points with 7 boards.

Hawks vs. Spurs Head to Head

Last year, we saw the Spurs winning both games, 126-125 at home, and 133-126 OT in Georgia.

Hawks vs. Spurs Predictions

The Hawks will win this game. They are a very tough team with a 7-2 road record, play very fast, and take a physical approach on the floor. Spurs are much weaker without Wemby, and when we add that Castle is out, this is enough for us to bet on the Hawks.
