Game Preview
Boston Celtics’ game against the Pelicans in New Orleans was close, 118-116. They battled for the win until the end when Jayson Tatum scored a jumper that decided the game and handed the Celtics their 32nd win.
Joe Mazzulla’s boys have the fifth-best offense in the NBA, with 117.3 points scored. Boston relies heavily on three-pointers, so it’s no wonder they hit 17.7 downtown shots per game, the highest in the league.
Philly is one game away from the play-in zone. Most definitely, this isn’t what they expected from this season. But that’s what you get with Joel Embiid as the unit’s centerpiece. His injuries hampered the Sixers’ ambitions.
The former NBA MVP’s absence is one reason this team has one of the worst offenses in the NBA, with only 109 points scored per game. It is the sixth-worst in the league at the moment.
Celtics vs. 76ers Head to Head
The first meeting of the year at the TD Garden saw the guests from Philly winning 118-114.
Celtics vs. 76ers Prediction
Boston lost the first game, one of just a couple they haven’t been able to win at home. We are pretty sure they will give everything to beat the Sixers for that. Mazzulla’s boys may be tired from traveling but are a better team overall.
