Game Preview
The Citizens will have a completely new midfield because Kevin De Bruyne has left, and after him, Ilkay Gündoğan might also depart. However, Tijjani Reijnders and Ryan Cherki arrived, and Guardiola again has a powerful crew.
Citizens should play much faster than last year. Cherki is the kind of player that pushes forward all the time, and Reijnders is a non-stop worker. Plus, Haaland and Marmoush will be available which adds more sharpness to the City’s attack.
Wydad was the African champion three years ago. They are much weaker now. For instance, they didn’t participate in any of the African competitions this season because they haven’t managed to qualify for one through the domestic league.
The good thing is that Wydad played in the Excellence Cup recently, having some competitive matches under their belt. Though, counting in two club friendlies, the Moroccans lost three of the past four events, not scoring in a single one.
