Game Preview
The Pacers won Game 1 121-112, taking the lead early on and then slowing down before breaking the hosts at the end of the fourth quarter. They used Garland’s absence to pump up the tempo and push the Cavs to the limit. Even though Indiana had 17 turnovers, it managed to get out on the winning side.
Andrew Nembhard had 23 points, 5-for-6 for three in Indiana, Tyrese Haliburton scored 22 and added 13 assists, while Pascal Siakam and Aaron Nesmit added 17 each. Myles Turner had 13 and 11 boards. The Pacers made 19 threes in this event.
On the other side, the Cavaliers scored only 9 threes in 38 attempts. Donovan Mitchell was 1-for-11 for three, yet scored 33 points in the end. Evan Mobley contributed with a triple-double 20 points and 10 boards, while Ty Jerome came off the bench to add 21 points.
